5 things to consider when selecting your Bridal look

1. It’s all about the dress.

The first thing to consider should be the style of your dress.  Something structured could warrant a slightly more striking look such as a red lip or a smokey eye, whereas a more romantic, relaxed style would require softer more relaxed makeup.  This would also apply when thinking about your hairstyle.

2. Be prepared at the trial

As well as plenty of inspiration photos, remember to take a white t-shirt with you to your trial.  Most brides request a natural look but when paired with a pale fabric such as a wedding dress, it can really wash you out.  Wearing a white top will demonstrate this and set your mind at rest when applying a little more makeup to balance it out.

3. Don’t stray too far from your usual look

You will be looking at your wedding photos for the rest of your life,  so it pays to choose a look that is an enhanced version of yourself as apposed to someone compltley differnet. Its always worth having a look online and in magazines to give yourself some inspiration.

4. Consider using false lashes

I generally advise trying out a few corner lashes as opposed to the full strip lashes.  They open out the eye and give you a very subtle fluttery look rather than full-on glamour girl.

5. Use waterproof mascara

This is a very emotional day.  We may intend to hold it together and not shed a few tears but in reality this never actually happens.  I always choose a waterproof mascara.  If you do get a bit teary, take a tissue and blot, never rub your eyes.  You can rest assured it will stay put and the panda eye affect will be kept at bay.

Avoid using products that contain SPF

Normally I would not recommend this however, products that contain SPF can often cause “flashback” in photography because it contains Titanium Dioxide.  It can have a very paling affect in photographs not normally seen in the flesh (so to speak).
